Awesome is how I feel

I've never felt so absolutely amazing as I do now. Not only have United progressed to the CL final, but my very own dear Scholesey scored one of his trademark 25-yarders into the top right hand corner to secure the game for us. I cannot even begin to tell you what a huge fan I am of his, and he is by far my fav. united player of all time. Awesomeness is coming, and rapidly.

Anyway - this would be a good moment to introduce you to Saket and his online blogging self. Happy blogging mate!

PS: Please leave comments about how the cocked-up the Ten Sports commentary was. Expletives in Hindi welcome. I will not even deign to curse their total lack of appreciation of genius at the Scholes goal.

Why City beat United

Because they quiz before every game! Here is Micah Richards in his column for BBC Sport.

We get there[Manchester city centre] at about 6pm and always have a general knowledge quiz the night before the game, which is run by Les Chapman our kit-man. We do not split into teams, it is every man for himself!

The best by far is Didi Hamann, he has got a lot of knowledge, and the worst has got to be Kelvin Etuhu. He is actually good academically but some of his answers are ridiculous.

Me, I'm in the middle somewhere. I have not really got a specialist subject, although I normally do well with the music questions.

Finally, the right rumour.

I've been shouting myself hoarse since a year that a relatively easy, but extremely effective buy for Manchester United would be Blackburn's Morton Gamst Pedersen. I thought all those goals against us would've convinced the gaffa about the boy's quality. Anyway, finally i read the lines, that make my smile grow a bit wider. 8 million would be a steal, and if two of Owen Hargreaves/ Franck Ribery/ Fernando Torres also make it to Old Trafford, then the depth on the squad would be fantastic.

There is also talk about the Dutch wonderkid, Klaas Jan Huntelaar coming - but I haven't yet seen him play, so can't comment on that.

Even in Manchester United go on to win 2/3 trophies that would be brilliant because they would've done it without a really world class out-and-out striker, something that is essential to any team that has to do well at the highest level. People would point to Saha, but IMHO he does not count as one. Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs' superior performances and Vidic and Ferdinand at the back have held the team together for the entire season and hopefully Carrick will show the trues potential that we all know he truly possesses.

To end, a few nice quotes from this weekend.(All from here)

"If I could go back in time I would have stayed at home."
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti after seeing his side beaten 7-1 by Manchester United.

Interviewer : So is the pressure now on Manchester United?
Jose Mourinho: No, no pressure. If they play well, they will win. If they don't play well, they will get a penalty and still win.
Mourinho after Chelsea closed the gap at the top of the Premiership to three points.

"I'd compare him to the incomparable George Best."
David Pleat singing Cristiano Ronaldo's praises during Man Utd's win over Roma.

Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole ...

This is why we originally supported Man United. Last minute goals, and a baby faced assasin called Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Why I am left absolutely frustrated ....

Reason : Chelsea.

Are these guys going to lose or what. Last week Everton had the better of them. They really deserved to lose that game, and they came away with 3 points. Same yesterday, at Wigan. Really, really deserved to drop two points, if not all three. I just wonder, how long can they keep coming up with such late winners and spectacular goals to stay in touch. It can't happen forever.

Remember the first day of the season last year at Wigan with the Crespo shot, the game at Arsenal where Essien scored a fantastic goal, and also I think they deserved to lose the game at Old Trafford. Man U dominated that game, and still they came up with the point. I'm totally exasperated. Yes, yesterday's win against Aston Villa was tasty, but what is more important is that Chelsea drop points, because we are going to. There just has to be a period when we will slump, and Chelsea will be on top. Then it can all disappear very quickly. What I am most worried about is that this is Chelsea's slump and they're still winning. Today I'm feeling as pessimistic as David Renwick. Hopefully, my fears will be ill-founded.
